Safeguarding

At Trelales Primary School, safeguarding is central to our ethos and daily practice. We are fully committed to ensuring that every child in our care feels safe, secure, and supported at all times. Our school is a place where children are listened to, respected, and encouraged to speak up about anything that worries them.

We have clear safeguarding policies and procedures in place, which are regularly reviewed and updated in line with national guidance. All staff receive ongoing training to help them recognise signs of abuse or neglect and to respond appropriately. We also work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide a joined-up approach to child protection and wellbeing.

Visitors to the school are expected to follow our safeguarding procedures, including signing in at reception, wearing a visitor badge, and being accompanied by a member of staff if necessary. We ask that all adults on site help us maintain a safe and respectful environment for our pupils.

If you have any concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, please speak to a member of our safeguarding team. Contact details and further information can be found below.

Mr Gibson is the Designated Safeguarding lead and Mrs Fitzgerald is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding lead. Sue Davies, is the link Governor for safeguarding.  If you have any concerns, please contact the school via admin@trelalesps.bridgend.cymru or call 01656815610.
